WHY TO EAT SUPPLEMENTS

People ask why to eat supplements, when there are experts who say, that eating nutrition supplements is not necessary or even useful. Those who claim such, are poorly informed / ignorant or loyal to the medical industry. Ill care professionals (doctors and such) are known to campaign against supplement use because they do not know how to use them or how they really effect or because good supplements degrease the number of patients which effects on their income.

Leading independent nutritionists, preventive health- and nutritional medicine experts know, that smart supplement program can improve health, lower risks of falling ill and slow down aging.
There are several reasons which back up this fact:

  • Our body wants to form or build about 3500 different biochemical compounds every day from 24 nutrients. The body manufactures hundreds or enzymes, hormones etc. One or more micronutrients are needed to each of them. If we are short of some of them, something is missing and it effects to our health, energy, immunity, or longevity, at least eventually. Over dozing is a vein fear, because the body gets rid of overdoses if that should happen.
  • Modern physically easy indoor life consumes less than half of the calories what men did in the Stone Age. The need of micronutrients however remains on the same level regardless of the energy consumption.
  • Our field soils have weakened and leached during hundreds or even thousands of years. Before agriculture, the food of hunter – gatherer was on average much more rich in nutrients than now.
  • The farmer spreads only the main nutrients N,P,K, etc. to the field but usually no micro nutrients (or very small number) which are crucial for our health. The soils are used without replacing micronutrients and have become much poorer.
  • In the mass production in greenhouses, the plants are not (except in organic production) rooted into the soils at all but grow in artificial surface with only on a few nutrients which are necessary for the growth.
  • Chemical farming weakens the plants, and they lack antioxidants and enzymes. Then they need to be protected with agriculture poisons against insects, weeds, illnesses, and fungi. With poison remains in the weakened food, we need more antioxidants from elsewhere.
  • Most and very common deficiencies in the food and people are: Se selenium, B9 (folic acid), B12, Mg magnesium, Zn zinc, Cu-copper, I-iodine, Cr-chrome, Fe-iron and many vitamins. Vitamin D outside of the tropics is always on too low level for optimum health during winter months. Modern food has way too little fibre for optimum gut health. We eat 10 – 15 g a day but should eat 50 g/ 1000 kcal.
  • Big part of our modern industrial food is very processed in many ways which means severely weakened.
  • Our food has also become quite old, because of long transportation distances and storing in many palces, which too weaken the nutritional quality.
  • Most of the food / calories nowadays goes into the category of “harm food” (fast food, candy, sugary drinks, alcohol, sweet bakeries, ultra processed foods) with truly little or no nutrients or dietary fibre. The worst of them we call “toxic calories” in those foods, which have clear negative effects in us.
  • There are lots of poisons, chemical remains, EDC:s (Endocrine Disturbing Chemicals), heavy metals, or industrial wastes in our food. Certain nutrients are helpful to get them out from the body and antioxidants from the supplements too help to repair the oxidizing damage what these harmful substances cause.
  • There are thousands of studies, where well planned and optimized nutrition program helps in the growth, health, longevity and mental health both animals and humans.
  • All professional cattle producers know that keeping animals without well designed supplement program, is out of the question, even if they get the purest organic fodder. The same goes with humans too. We have precisely the same nutrition-based biochemistry in our bodies as animals have.
  • For reproduction only, at a young age, we humans would not need supplements. Good food would be enough. Most of us, however, want also to have long and healthy life and healthy years as seniors. Slowing down aging and preventing degenerative illnesses can be done with healthy lifestyle and nutrients. There are scientific solutions to treat and prevent many aging or health risks with holistic ingredients, superfoods and adaptogens. Smart, conscious, and healthy people want to use those and improve the quality and length of their lives.
  • The work life nowadays is incredibly stressful because of several reasons. We know that stress is a triggering factor in degenerative illnesses. The science knows herbal products or nutrients or special foods which calm down stress and this way improve productivity and health.
  • The science knows helping supplements against most modern degenerative illnesses as prevention and even as cure. Unfortunately, the big audience is unaware about this, because there is large nutrition ignorance even among educated people. There are strong corporations with their lobbying and corrupting actions which make money from ill people.
  • The science has proven, that to treat many illnesses with therapeutic level (large amounts) of certain nutrients can be very helpful.
  • Supplement – like superfoods from the nature like certain spices, herbs and adaptogens can boost various body actions a lot, if you know how to use the well. Nature has built also in plants certain defence mechanisms which we can make use of by eating them. They can have very powerful and useful properties and certainly worth trying, learning and using.

The intake of supplement needs to be based on know-how or laboratory tests. By staying healthy one can earn multiple times more than the supplements cost.
The claim: “you do not benefit from supplements”, can be ignored as business propaganda. Results of the science say other. Eating supplements as instructed, is safe.

Eating the medicines properly even as described, is dangerous. In USA, medicines are the fourth common reason for death. The number of casualties from eating medicines is over twice as high as in the traffic.
